The “dry hair” anomaly refers to hair that is partially or totally lacking fats or dehydrated. The scales of the cuticle, lacking their natural nourishment, open. We can imagine the hair structure as something very similar to the structure of a plant stem: the main internal part (the fi bre) and an external covering that contains and protects it (the cuticle), made up of various overlapping layers of keratin scales.
Given the position in which it is found, the cuticle is the first to be exposed to sensitizing and damaging factors, such as:
